'ia ora na, kura ora, ena koutou, kaoha nui, teiteateoteratena & aronga! - warm greetings!
We are the very 1st Tahitian Cultural Center located in the United States of America.
As a center, we welcome everyone to learn the Mā'ohi culture through the folk & traditional arts such as Rima'ī (traditional handicrafts), Rara'a (traditional weaving), as well as 'Ori Tahiti (traditional Tahitian dance).
Everyone is invited to seek guidance to learn all things Mā'ohi through classes, workshops + seminars.
To all of our family, friends, supporters & followers: we thank you for your patience as we navigate trying to
secure a physical studio for our center. We appreciate your support, understanding & love. 'ia nui te aroha!
TE MAU HA'API'IRA'A E VAI RA
Cultural guidance with a lasting impact
As a Tahitian-American family, we developed the idea for our center based on the cultural necessity and lack of direct access to cultural resources within the U.S. Tahitian dance community. Vairea's vision is to seek to improve the cultural understanding of indigenous Ma'ohi practices & traditions. By teaching our children & their peers the language & traditional dances of their ancestors they are reconnected to their island home 4,000+ miles across Te Moana Nui A Hiva (the Pacific Ocean).
